Inspired by Threads
Saturday, March 28, 2015 - 1-3pm

Join us for tea with Jane Evans and Liv Weiss, authors of Threads: A Needle Necessity as they take us on an exciting journey of discovery through the amazing array of threads available for needlepoint. Tea and scones will be served!

From the authors:
Some ideas to consider about threads: The importance of reading labels, colorfastness, roundness, thickness, loft, softness (the hand), does it need to be plied, how it reacts to light (do they reflect it or absorb it), how the color of a thread may change the appearance of the thread completely, comparing one thread to another in terms of price/yardage.

These are just some of the topics that Jane and Liv will cover in what should be a lively interactive class. You, too, will be inspired by threads! Jane and Liv will show finished pieces that use all types of threads from ordinary to unique to lead us in a thought-provoking discussion of the appealing properties of threads.

What to bring: Smiles! There will be laughter, since needlepoint is all about fun!

We will have their book available for purchase and we anticipate that they will agree to give autographs! To reserve your copy and/or RSVP for the class itself, please call the shop 804-269-0355. Cost: $20 (includes goody bag of threads and other fun surprises) or $47 (includes goody bag and their book - represents a 10% class discount on the book).
